Moody Spring 2021 Commencement Ceremonies
On Feb. 1, Dr. Robert MacRae, professor in the Educational Ministries department, received the 2011 Faculty Citation Award. The award was presented to Dr. MacRae by Bonnie Ho (M.A.B.S., '04), a member of the Moody Bible Institute Alumni Board, during the Tuesday morning session of Moody’s annual Founder’s Week conference.
Each year, the Alumni Association honors a professor from among the dedicated members of the faculty for his or her distinguished service to Moody’s students. Dr. MacRae, who teaches courses in youth ministry and marriage and family, is known best for his passion for spiritual formation in students and for his dedication to helping them sort through the challenges and struggles of college life. He is highly respected in the classroom, and spends countless hours outside of it encouraging and guiding his students.
“As both an alumni and faculty member, Bob has been a constant example of Christ’s love in both his humility and kindness to students, colleagues and the world around him,” said Dr. Larry Davidhizar, vice president and dean of the undergraduate school. “As a senior member of the Educational Ministries department, his commitment to educational excellence and spiritual growth really attributes to the quality and uniqueness of Moody.”
Dr. McRae often participates in Moody’s Pastor’s Conference as both a speaker and participant. He is an active leader in public ministry and serves with his church’s youth group. He started teaching at Moody in Aug. 1995 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the college, as well as a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and Doctor of Ministry degree from Bethel Theological Seminary.
