Is it wrong or is it okay to donate your organs at death? Question and Answer How can it be wrong? A dying person has no more use for them, and by donating them may give the recipient many years of useful life. The apostle John says that Jesus “laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers” (1 John 3:16).

My wife listens constantly to Moody Radio. Naturally, I am forced to hear snatches of your programs. Much of the stuff you broadcast so confidently (and print in Today in the Word, which she reads) is mainly sentiment that depends on belief in God. I am an atheist and have never seen a convincing reason to believe in the existence of God.

It seems like such a long trip for a single woman who was expecting a child to travel alone. Question and Answer The village is about two or three hours by car from Nazareth—approximately 120 miles. Of course, Mary...

I've been a Christian for many years, and I'm one of those people who seems to fight a losing battle with weight. Recently I overheard a conversation (that maybe I was meant to overhear) where the subject of gluttony came up. The comments were not kind, to say the least. Does being fat mean that I am obviously a glutton? Is Being Overweight...

Where did Jesus’ spirit go between Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday? Did Jesus go to hell? Question and Answer The idea that the Lord Jesus went to hell between the crucifixion and the resurrection, frequently called “the harrowing of hell,” has been believed since ancient times. In fact, the Apostles’ Creed seems to teach it when it...

Do our beloved pets go to heaven when they pass on? The Lord has given us thirteen acres of land where we have taken in rescue cats and dogs. He has given us these pets as companions. They are loyal and loving. Is there a place for them with Jesus? Question and Answer I resonate deeply with the question, “Is there a place for them with Jesus?”...

How many women observed the empty tomb, including all the accounts? And, in John 20:11–21 where Jesus appears to Mary Magdalene, she is not said to be afraid of Him when He calls her by name. In what seems like a contradiction, the other three Gospels (Matt. 28:10; Mark 16:8; Luke 24:5) stress the fear of those who suddenly recognized Him,...

Where is it found that we should celebrate Jesus’ birthday? It seems to me that Christians ought to celebrate His death more than His birth. Question and Answer We mark the Lord’s birth every year for at least three reasons: first, Scripture gives a lot of space to it. Jesus’ birth is the subject of Old Testament prophecies, and two of the...
