March 17 Moody Student COVID-19 Update
Dear Moody Students,
As we have been developing plans in reaction to the rapid developments of our nation’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak, we want you to know that you – our students – have been the focal point of our minds, hearts, and prayers.
We understand the myriad of feelings each of you may be experiencing right now, as the impact of this crisis continues to radically reshape your educational experience this year at Moody. We’ve heard and seen a wide array of emotions that students have experienced. Here’s how one student has aptly captured it. We want you to know that we at Moody feel these emotions with you.
We are aware that the prospect of traveling now has been generating more anxiety for some – especially for those coming from long distances – as conditions continue to be impacted by changing restrictions. We are monitoring the ways some students may be experiencing difficulty traveling back to Moody’s Chicago campus to move out of their residence hall by the deadline communicated in our previous email.
Students and their families will be given the ability to postpone their travels if you discern that the uncertainties of travel are too great to come back to Chicago at this time. To request an extension, please fill out this google form before March 29, 2020. In the upcoming weeks, the effectiveness of our planning for your move-out process is dependent on Moody having accurate information from you.
Dr. Jobe and Dr. Perry will be addressing the impacts of all of these new developments on your Moody experience in more detail at President’s Chapel on Tuesday, March 24 at 10am CST which will be livestreamed. There will be more information about how to participate in this live but digital version of President’s Chapel soon from the President’s Office.
