March 18 Moody Community COVID-19 Update

03.18.2020

Dear Moody Family:

As the COVID-19 Task Force continues to evaluate campus operations for the rest the semester through the lens of health and safety for all, we have come to the conclusion that the best course of action is to limit student, staff, and faculty access to some of our campus buildings and facilities, as well as having all buildings closed to the general public. Therefore, effective today (Wednesday, March 18), at 5 p.m. CDT, the following buildings either will be completely closed or have limited access via FOB for essential faculty and staff…

OVERALL CAMPUS

  • Sweeting – Closed with individual access to office and workspace
  • Doane/Torrey-Gray – Closed with individual access to office and workspace
  • Fitzwater – Closed with individual access to office and workspace
  • Solheim – Closed with individual access to office and workspace
  • Chapman – Front doors locked at all times with individual appropriate fob access
  • ASC – Front doors locked at all times with individual appropriate fob access
  • Crowell – Front doors locked at all times with individual appropriate fob access
  • Smith – Front doors locked at all times with individual appropriate fob access
  • Culbertson – Front doors remain locked per typical access control measures
  • Houghton – Front doors remain locked per typical access control measures
  • Jenkins – Front doors remain locked per typical access control measures

LIBRARY

In addition, as of today (Wednesday, March 18) at 5 p.m. CDT, the Crowell Library is closed until further notice. The Crowell Library website is the best way to keep track of Library hours and services going forward, as it will be updated any time things change. Please be assured that the Library is working diligently to determine how best to provide the services needed to support online classes this spring. We have created a web page which provides up-to-date information about borrowing services, online resources, and staff contact information while we are closed. Any changes to our services will be updated on this web page immediately.

If in doubt, submit a request to circulation@moody.edu or libraryonline@moody.edu and we will let you know if we can make the materials available or not. Due to unusually high demand and limited staff availability, please be patient as we process your inquiry. We will get to your request as soon as possible. Please know that we are committed to providing students with the resources required in order to do meaningful research as to complete courses of study. We will do everything in our power to provide what is needed while we are closed.

MOODY CENTRAL

Effective immediately, Moody Central (including Financial Aid, Academic Records, and Student Accounts) is operating on a reduced staff schedule. The best way to reach Moody Central staff during this time is via direct email to 2020@moody.edu.

Thanks for your cooperation and understanding during this very challenging time.

Co-Chair, COVID-19 Task Force
