Moody Radio Expands Reach to Include All of Nashville
WFCN 1200 AM and two FM signals being added to Moody Radio
All of Nashville and its metropolitan area will now be able to tune into Moody Radio for the first time later this summer.
“This is a historic moment for Moody Radio,” said Collin Lambert, vice president of Moody Radio who purchased the broadcast license for WAMB 1200 AM and its FM translator.
“Our vision of being able to serve the entire Nashville area has come to fruition and we are grateful to the Lord.”
Known as Music City USA, Nashville and its metropolitan area makes up more than 7,000 square miles and includes almost two million residents.
“We now have the incredible opportunity to reach an additional half million new listeners with the gospel and help them take the next step in their journey with Jesus Christ through creative, practical and life-changing biblical programming,” Lambert added.
Immediately following the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) approval of Moody Radio’s purchase on June 9, WAMB is now known as WFCN 1200 AM.
Both WFCN 1200 AM and Moody Radio’s upcoming FM signal are licensed as repeater stations and will carry programming originating from Moody Radio’s 91.7 FM in Murfreesboro, Tenn. WFCN is currently off the air as Moody Radio transitions the signal, but will begin broadcasting later this summer.
Included in the FCC’s approval of the purchase for the AM and FM signals was a permit for Moody Radio to construct an additional FM translator to further the reach of its programming into Nashville’s metropolitan areas. More information about Moody Radio’s two FM signals in Nashville will be announced later this summer.
“Moody Radio is synonymous with solid Biblical teaching.” said Scott Thunder, station manager for Moody Radio in Nashville. “Brentwood, Gallatin, north Nashville and even Clarksville will now be able to listen on a clearer, stronger signal. Many others will be able to enjoy the ministry of Moody Radio for the first time so we are deeply excited to be in a position to serve an expanded audience.”
Moody Radio is one of the oldest Christian radio networks in the United States, having aired its first broadcast in 1926 from Chicago, Ill. Respected as an industry leader and a trusted voice for more than a million listeners each day, Moody Radio has grown to include 37 owned and operated stations, six Internet stations, more than 1,500 outlets carrying all or part of its original programming, and Radio Moody, a Spanish language network of six owned and operated stations and two affiliates.
