On February 27, 2020, the Moody Radio Ministry Impact Award was given to Bob Butts, executive vice president of the ministry and radio program Truth For Life with Alistair Begg. The presentation took place during the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville.

“We are honored that Bob, our longtime friend and radio colleague, is the recipient of our first Ministry Impact Award,” said Doug Hastings, vice president of Moody Radio. “He is the epitome of a servant leader, with a drive for excellence in broadcast innovation and a deep care for sharing the gospel that always go hand-in-hand.”

Bruce Everhart, vice president of Donor Development and Channel Strategy at Moody Bible Institute and Butts’ first boss at Moody Radio, presented the award to him for his long and successful career in Christian radio. The award ceremony was held during Moody Radio’s open house at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention (NRB) in Nashville. The award, given by Moody Radio, recognizes an individual, partner, or organization that demonstrates servant-hearted leadership, innovation, and outreach in Christian media.

“I feel quite honored and humbled to receive this award,” said Butts. “God has placed me where His Word has been faithfully taught for many years.”

Moody Radio’s presentation of the Ministry Impact Award is especially significant since it was given to Butts on the 25th anniversary of when Truth For Life with Alistair Begg first aired on Moody Radio (February 27, 1995). This is also the inaugural year for the award, which will be given annually during NRB by Moody Radio.

Butts is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and Columbia College Chicago. He also worked for Moody Radio before joining Truth For Life with Alistair Begg in 1997. Begg credits Butts, a longtime attendee of Begg’s Parkside Church, for coming up with the idea in 1992 that his preaching should be featured as a Moody Radio program.
