Veteran radio professional and Moody Radio staff member Andrew Leuthold has been promoted to station manager of Moody Radio Florida.

Leuthold has been with Moody Radio since 1998, when he first served as a part-time announcer at a previously-owned station in Atlanta. He came on staff full-time there in 2001, as the production director and afternoon host. Since that time he has served in a variety of roles at Moody Radio, most recently as operations director, a position he held since 2012.

“Andrew is committed to ensuring that our hosts and programming serves our listeners well so that they grow closer to God and are equipped to be witnesses in their community and spheres of influence,” said Doug Hastings, vice president of Moody Radio. “I’m grateful for his years of service at Moody Radio and am excited for this next season of Moody Radio in Florida under his leadership. I know that the Lord will bless his efforts.”

Previous to his tenure at Moody Radio, Leuthold served at a number of broadcast stations over the years, including WXIA-TV in Atlanta, along with several Moody Radio affiliates such as WLBF, WDYF and WSTF in Montgomery, Alabama. In his new role with Moody Radio as station manager for its Florida stations, Leuthold will direct all administrative functions, personnel, technical and engineering, facilities, business operations and FCC compliance.

“I was a Moody Radio listener long before I began serving here, and am excited about where and how God will be working to expand the reach and impact of Moody Radio,” said Leuthold, whose father was a pastor with a radio ministry throughout the Caribbean. “Moody Radio is here to serve listeners, and help them take their next step with Jesus Christ. As station manager, I am committed to ensuring that Moody Radio remains a constant resource for those in the listening area and an encouragement to them as well.” Leuthold holds a bachelor of science as well as a master of science in radio and television from Bob Jones University.

In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the station, which includes signals in central and south Florida, such as Tampa Bay, Naples, Ocala, St. Petersburg, and others, Leuthold will serve as a spokesperson for Moody Radio. He will cultivate relationships with listeners, churches, pastors and community leaders to help enhance and strengthen Moody Radio’s visibility in Florida where Moody Radio is heard.

He and his wife, Miriam, have been married for 27 years, have two grown children, and are active in their home church.

Leuthold replaces Pierre Chestang, who recently retired as station manager after 25 cumulative years of service at Moody Radio.

Pierre Chestang

Chestang, who is also a graduate of Moody Bible Institute (1979), served at WGNR, WMBI, and WKES. He has transitioned to full-time pastoral ministry at a church that he and his wife, Donata, launched several years ago in Valrico, Florida.

“While we are sad to see Pierre go, God has opened up an exciting opportunity for him to serve as a pastor and invest in the lives of the congregation he loves,” added Hastings. “I am beyond grateful to the Lord for Pierre’s many years of service at Moody Radio, the leadership he provided, and how he helped us reach many listeners in Florida with the Gospel.” He added, “He built a firm foundation from which Andrew will now serve, so I’m excited for the future as we help more people take their next step with Jesus Christ.”
